Welcome to Off-Campus Living!

The Office of Off-Campus Living provides students with assistance in securing off-campus living accommodations and roommate selections.

The office lists available rental property in the area and monitors the status of minimum housing code inspections.

Assistance is available to students in all matters related to living off-campus, including landlord and roommate problems, and concerns with neighbors.

Information is available concerning leases, legal advice, and the appropriate channels through which students may gain redress in legitimate complaints. The Office of Off Campus Living also seeks to resolve neighborhood conflicts.

Freshmen and sophomores are required to reside on campus. It is college policy that any student wishing to live off campus must have permission from the Office Of Residence Life. Students may obtain permission if they will be in their junior or senior year.  Graduate students, married students, and local students living with their parents (commuters) are exempted from the permission requirement.

If you are setting up an apartment for the first time and need to contact local utilities, or if you are already living here and are looking for something to do with family or friends visiting -- there is useful information and links on the tab settings to the right. 

Any  undergraduate student not residing on campus is required to fill out a permission form and information card with the Office of Off-Campus Living each academic year.

Keep your personal information i.e. contacts, roommates, phone numbers, e-mail etc. current and up-to-date with the Office of Off-Campus Living. Commuters need to register with our office each academic year. 

Students should not sign any leases until they have obtained permission to move off campus from the Office of Residence Life. Requests to live off campus will be approved after the on- campus apartment and suite selection process has been completed. The College reserves the right to oblige students to live on campus, even those who have signed a lease, but without first receiving the College's permission.

Your housing should be in compliance with the minimum housing code standards of the City of Providence.
