Concannon Fitness Center Policies & Guidelines

Failure to adhere to the policies & guidelines will result in loss of facility privileges. Providence College reserves the right to put into effect any new guidelines that protect the health, safety and integrity of the participants using the facility.  Please observe weight room etiquette and demonstrate courtesy towards others in the center at all times

Please show respect for equipment, facilities, and personnel at all times

  • Do not drop or throw weights.
  • Wear proper training attire, particularly shirts and athletic shoes, at all times. Jeans and work-boots are not allowed.
  • Refrain from using profanity or grunting/yelling in the fitness center.
  • Food, chewing gum, glass bottles, and cans are not allowed in the fitness facility. Plastic water bottles are acceptable.
  • Immediately report any facility related injury or facility/equipment irregularity to the supervisor on duty.
  • Re-rack weights and return all other accessories to their proper locations.
  • Be courteous by carrying a workout towel and please wipe machine padding after use.
  • Wipe down cardio equipment after use.
  • Ask if you may "work in” and allow others to work in between sets.  Please do not sit on machines between sets.
  • No more than 6 members of a varsity team, club, sports team, group, or organization in the weight room at one time.
  • Personal belongings are not allowed on the floor (bags, clothing, etc.). Please use designated lockers.
  • The on-duty supervisors have the authority over all room conduct and use of equipment.
