computersThe Providence College Recycling Program recycles all computers and parts, as well as many old electronic devices.  We will take the following items for recycling:

  • Computer hard drives, monitors, keyboards, mouses, wires, televisions, printers, fax machines, typewriters, telephones.

Veolia Environmental Services currently takes these items for the College.  If you would like to recycle any of these items, please call the Recycling Hotline at 865-1881 to arrange for a pick-up.

To recycle old floppy disks (whether they are blank or old program start-up disks), please drop them off at the Recycling Center (located next to the Power Plant), mail them to us via inter-office mail or call for a pick-up.  Keep an eye out for new, convenient drop-off locations in computer labs, Slavin Center and the Mail Room!

Do you want to learn more about computer recycling?  The RI Chapter of Clean Water Action is working on a Computer Take Back Campaign, which calls on computer manufacturers "to take back their obsolete products, eliminate toxins through product design and recycle."  There is currently a bill, Electronic Waste Producer Responsibility Act (H 5783) being discussed in RI legislature.
