A Letter from the Dean

Entering as a first-year student at Providence College is an exciting step in your life's journey. For many students, living on campus can be a dynamic and identity-shaping experience that complements academic and co-curricular pursuits. Living in the residence halls at Providence College is meant to serve as a transformative experience and is an opportunity that creates long-lasting memories.

As members of the residence community, students are exposed to a broad range of opportunities for involvement, pride, and learning that exist in and around the Providence College community. Programs, events, and interactions with residence life staff are designed to focus on how students enter the college environment, make connections across campus, and find ways to make a true impact in their own lives and beyond.

In this section, you will find much of the information you will need to ease your transition from home to Providence College.  If we have missed something, of if you come up with the one question we could not have anticipated, let us know. While the office is not staffed 24/7, the beautiful thing about email is that you can send one at any time.  We can be reached at

Welcome to Friartown and we'll see you soon.
