Political Science Department

Political science is among the most popular programs at Providence College, but our many classes, unique seminars, and special topics courses rarely exceed 25 students.

Led by dedicated teachers, who also are practicing scholars, political science students are offered a comprehensive look at modern and historical political issues through dozens of diverse courses and engaged learning initiatives, such as service projects, study abroad, and internships.

Skills that are strengthened by studying political science—analytical, administrative, and communication—often make graduates leading candidates for careers in government, law, business, nonprofit organizations, journalism, and education, and also for graduate study.
