    Of the new hires, 22 are tenure-track including nine who were hired from full-time teaching positions at other institutions and four who were post-doctoral fellows elsewhere. more
  • Princeton Scholar to Deliver Convocation Address at Providence College
    Dr. Robert P. George, J.D. '09Hon., the McCormick Professor of Jurisprudence and director of the James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions at Princeton University, will give the keynote address at Providence College's Academic Convocation on September 16. more
  • Dr. Hugh F. Lena Named Provost at Providence College
    Dr. Hugh F. Lena, a professor and administrator who has served PC for the past 35 years, was recently appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs. more

  • Martin '08 Nominated for Virginia Teaching Award
    Grace Martin, a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of Providence College, was named a finalist for the 2008-09 Henrico County (Va.) First-Year Teacher of the Year Award. Martin taught a self-contained classroom of seven children with autism. more

  • Field Hockey Ranked 20th in Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I Poll
    The Providence College field hockey team was ranked 20th in the 2009 Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I Preseason Poll. The Friars amassed 57 points in the poll, and are one of four BIG EAST Conference members to earn a spot in the top 20. more
