Dr. Hugh F. Lena, a professor and administrator who has served PC for the past 35 years, was recently appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs. more

Martin '08 Nominated for Virginia Teaching Award
Grace Martin, a 2008 magna cum laude graduate of Providence College, was named a finalist for the 2008-09 Henrico County (Va.) First-Year Teacher of the Year Award. Martin taught a self-contained classroom of seven children with autism. more

Field Hockey Ranked 20th in Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I Poll
The Providence College field hockey team was ranked 20th in the 2009 Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I Preseason Poll. The Friars amassed 57 points in the poll, and are one of four BIG EAST Conference members to earn a spot in the top 20. more
