Dr. MaryJane Lenon, associate professor of economics and a former three-term president of the Faculty Senate, has been elected Senate president for the 2008-09 academic year. Two other new officers also have been elected. More

Capt. Cromie '05 Awarded Elite Military Honor for Valor
U.S. Army Capt. William G. Cromie '05, a graduate of the College's ROTC program, received the third-highest award for valor during combat at a ceremony in Afghanistan. More

Dr. MaryJane Lenon, associate professor of economics and president of the Faculty Senate, was interviewed live by local and national broadcast outlets for her expertise on the federal government's $700 billion bailout plan. Lenon was interviewed by ABC-6 TV in Providence on September 19 and by National Public Radio (NPR) in a five-state simulcast program that originated in Wisconsin on September 20. She also was interviewed for later broadcast purposes by WPRI-TV Channel 12 (CBS) in East Providence on September 29.

PC to Host 2009 BIG EAST Field Hockey Championships
The BIG EAST Conference has awarded the 2009 field hockey championship to Providence College. The event, which is scheduled for next November 7-8, will be held at the Friar Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex on campus. More
