Providence College English Professor Wins Prestigious African Writing Award
E. C. Osondu, assistant professor of English at PC and a native of Nigeria, has won the 2009 Caine Prize for African Writing. The prize is awarded for the top short story written in English by an African writer. more

Castleman Takes Reins of PC School of Continuing Education
Dr. Janet L. Castleman, a former dean of graduate and continuing education in Massachusetts, has been named dean of the Providence College School of Continuing Education. more

 In 2008-2009, the College conducted 27
tenure-track searches for faculty positions for the 2009-10 academic year. So far, 23 tenure-track faculty have been hired. Of these, nine were hired from tenure-track positions elsewhere and four held post-doctoral positions.
