    Four Providence College faculty members are among several researchers at colleges and universities in Rhode Island to benefit from a five-year, $18 million grant from the National Center for Research Resources of the National Institutes of Health. more

    The National Endowment for the Humanities has selected Rev. Leonard P. Hindsley, Ph.D., professor of humanities at Providence College, to take part in a summer institute on "Buddhist Traditions of Tibet and the Himalayas." more

  • PC Kicks Off Receptions for Class of 2013, New Transfers
    Nearly 100 people gathered at a summer reception for incoming freshmen in the Class of 2013 and new transfer students on June 16. Held in Wethersfield, Conn., the event was the first of 16 summer regional receptions sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations. more

  • Lou Lamoriello '63 was cited in a June 8 Cape Cod Times story entitled "Cape League: 10 new Hall of Famers." Lamoriello will be inducted into the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame on November 14.

  • 11 Women's Hockey Players Named To HOCKEY EAST All-Academic Team
    The Providence College student-athletes qualified for the team by earning a 3.0 grade point average or higher in each of the two academic periods during which they were actively competing. more

    Friar strength and conditioning coaches will hold four, three-day training sessions in July. more

 Did You Know?

 

A total of 310 undergraduate day school students in the School of Business received degrees during the College's recent Commencement Exercises--an increase of 16 graduates over the Class of 2008. The graduates represent 22 states, led by Massachusetts and New York with 114 and 67, respectively, and three countries: Canada, Ireland, and Nepal. The school incorporates the disciplines of accountancy, finance, management, and marketing.
