Freshmen built spaghetti bridges as part of the Department of Engineering-Physics-Systems' orientation during PC's overall New Student Orientation recently. Teams competed to build a bridge that would hold the most weight.

Thomas M. Thrift '13, a 3-2 pre-engineering major from Greenville, R.I., adds weights to the bridge he and Samuel T. Butts '13 of Braintree, Mass., constructed as Louis H. Cadwell, professor of physics, looks on.
