  • Improving Your Time Management Strategies:   Organize your responsibilities to enhance your productivity
  • Improving Your Public Speaking: Learn effective strategies for oral presentations
  • Note Taking Strategies: Learn how to improve your note taking abilities
  • Preparing for Final Exams: Learn some anxiety management techniques and strategies for final exams
  • Reading to Remember: Improve your retention and increase your reading rate
  • What Type Of Student Are You?:   Take a computerized inventory that will assess your academic strengths and weaknesses
  • Writing "A" Great Research Paper: Learn the appropiate steps for writing an "A+" paper

 

     The Writing Center's "Tea Time" Wor kshop Descriptions

 

  • From Working Thesis to Thesis That Works: Learn to construct thesis statements that are appropiate in size and scope for their assignments.
  • I Have My Quotes - Now What?: Students will learn how to select quotes more carefully and incorporate research into their writing more skillfully.
  • The "Which Hunt": Techniques for Self Editing: Strategies to help students find their own mistakes, as well as tips to avoid some of the more common errors in grammar and usage.
  • Writing: The Cure for Writer's Block: Practical strategies to help students get their essays off the ground and keep them moving.
  • Writing Effective Introductions and Conclusions: Students will learn how to grab their readers' attention at the beginning of an essay and leave them wanting more at the end.
