Creating An Effective Study Group

Working with peers who share a genuine interest in the same class can be a major contribution to your overall college experience.   By studying in groups you are able to share ideas, improve your study strategies, and develop new relationships.

Staff members from the Office of Academic Services have produced a Study Group Guidelines handout that addresses the major considerations for a successful study group experience.  The handout includes information on:

-Forming a Study GroupStudent Discussion

-Defining Roles & Expectations

-Creating Agendas

-How to Involve Your Professor

-Possible Meeting Locations
