Susan received a B.S. from the State University of New York at Potsdam, a M.M. in bassoon performance from Indiana University, where she studied with Leonard Sharrow, and  doctoral studies at Boston University, where she studied with Matthew Ruggiero, formerly of the Boston Symphony.  Susan was principal bassoon in the Rhode Island Philharmonic for many years.  Currently she is a free lance bassoonist who performs frequently at the Newport Music Festival and is a bassoon instructor.
