Susan Rodgers, M.M.

Susan Rodgers completed her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance at Rhode Island College where she was the recipient of the Canto Jacob Hohenemser Award and was chosen as the Outstanding Music Graduate of her class.  She received a Master's Degree from New England Conservatory in Vocal Pedagogy, graduating with academic honors, and a certificate in Operatic Technique from Curtis Institute of Music under the tutelage of Boris Golovsky.  She has sung leading roles with Goldovsky Opera National Tour, New York City Opera's Education Department, Pittsburgh Opera Theatre, Opera Ensemble of New York, Bronx Opera, Washington Civic Opera, Baton Rouge Opera, Atlanta Lyric Opera, and Southern Regional Opera.  Locally she has appeared as soloist with The Rhode Island Civic Chorale, The Providence Singers, The New Music Ensemble, The Oratorio Singers, The Harvard Messiah Sing, Indian Hill Symphony, The Providence Gay Men's Chorus, and Musica Dolce and has performed leading roles with Opera Rhode Island, Cabot Street Playhouse, and Ocean State Light Opera.  She is member of the Music Faculty at Rhode Island Collge, Community College of Rhode Island and Providence College and is currently the contralto soloist at St. Martin's Church in Providence.  She was elected to be listed in Who's Who Among American Teachers, 2002 and 2005.
