PC Festival Band for High School Students
Michele M. Holt, D.M.A.

Dr. Michele Holt, Director of Choral Activities at Providence College and Director of the Vocal Institute is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island where she received both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Arts in Music Education. She received a Doctor of Musical Arts in choral conducting at the Hartt School of Music. She is an active festival conductor and has conducted All State and Regional Festivals in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Florida and has been clinician to numerous choral adjudication festivals, including the Manhattan Choral Festival and the Tennessee Vocal Arts Association.

At Providence College, Michele directs two select choirs and a Women’s Chorus while also instructing Conducting  and secondary choral methods. She is currently Coordinator of Music Education at Providence College.  Previous to her work at Providence College. Michele was Director of Choral Activities at Stonington High School for twenty-four years, where she was selected as 1996-97 Teacher of the Year for the school district.

Michele is a very active member of the American Choral Directors Association. She is Past President of both Rhode Island ACDA and ACDA Eastern Division. Currently, Michele is ACDA National President.
