
Klancy Martin received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degrees in Music and Music Education from Carnegie-Mellon University and his Masters Degree in Music from Indiana University where he was an Assistant Instructor to Louis Davidson. His primary trumpet teachers were Mr. Davidson, Roger Voisin, Anthony Pasquarelli and Julio Tancredi. Mr. Martin has performed under the batons of many notable conductors including Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, Andre Previn and Yehudi Menuhin. He has performed at the Spoleto Festival and was a Fellow with the Berkshire Music Center Orchestra at Tanglewood. He formerly held the position of Assistant Principal Trumpet of the Filharmonica de Caracas in Caracas, Venezuela. Presently, Klancy has a busy freelance career throughout New England and has performed with the Hartford Symphony, Springfield Symphony, Worcester Orchestra and the Rhode Island Philharmonic. He is a member of the music faculty at Providence College and the music instructor at Putnam Middle School in Putnam, CT where he was Teacher of the Year in 2004.
Klancy and his wife Denise reside in Harmony, Rhode Island with their three sons.
