
Baritone Gabriel Alfieri holds a Bachelor of Music degree, summa cum laude, from Rhode Island College, and a Master of Music degree in Vocal Pedagogy, with highest academic honors, from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. His teachers include Maria Spacagna and Richard Cassilly, and he has worked with vocal coaches Diane Richardson, Phyllis Curtin, Warren Jones, and John Moriarty.
Mr. Alfieri has appeared as concert soloist with the New Bedford Choral Society, the Newport Baroque Orchestra, Gordon College Orchestra, South County Chamber Singers, Boston’s Vox Consort, and the New England Conservatory Chorus & Sinfonietta in Jordan Hall. As a recital soloist, he has performed at the Newport Music Festival in Rhode Island, at Steinway Hall in New York City, on the Steinway-Haus International Recital Series in Vienna, Austria, and at various venues throughout southern New England and New York. His theatrical credits in the Providence-Boston area include engagements with Trinity Repertory Company, Opera Providence, Alias Stage Theater, New England Light Opera, Opera by the Bay, and Boston Lyric Opera.
He was twice awarded 1st prize at the RINATS Song Festival and was chosen as a semi-finalist in the 1995 International Opera Singers’ Competition at the New York Center for Contemporary in Opera. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Musicology at New England Conservatory, Mr. Alfieri's writings on vocal music have been published in Classical Singer magazine and in the NATS Journal of Singing.
