Nov. 16, 2017, Providence, RI – Providence College (PC) was recently ranked 10th in the United States for semester-long study abroad in the category of Master's Colleges and Universities. The designation was released in the annual "Open Doors" report conducted by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and covers the 2015-16 academic year, the latest year reported.

Providence, R.I. – September 20, 2017 – Providence College today announced that Dr. Jonathan Richardson, assistant professor of biology, has received a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for $125,310. With this grant, Richardson and an undergraduate student will spend time studying urban ecology and landscape genetics in rats.

Providence, R.I. – September 18, 2017 – Providence College (PC) today announced the completion of the most successful fund-raising campaign in the College's 100-year history. Our Moment: The Next Century Campaign for Providence College, concluded this past weekend with a celebration on the PC campus that included trustees, students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and friends. At the main event on Saturday evening, the College announced it has raised $185 million, over 30% more than the campaign’s original goal of $140 million when it was launched publicly in October 2014.

The first phase will include a basketball practice facility and space for associated Department of Athletics activities. Providence, R.I. - Providence PROMISE Program motivates students and gets them on the path to college. Starting Tuesday, July 5, the Providence PROMISE Program at Providence College will provide 21 rising Providence high school students the opportunity to see what it is like to be a college student. As a way to experience what transitioning into college means, these students will, twice a week over the next five weeks, take classes and discover what it is like to do academic research, speak in front of their fellow students, complete critical reading and thinking exercises, and manage their time effectively.

report that finds ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft lower the rate of fatal accidents, DUI arrests, disorderly conduct and assaults. The report says that the public safety benefits of ride-sharing services are also helping those demographics most likely to be involved in these potential traffic tragedies – Smartphone users aged 25 – 44 who are also Uber’s primary users..
Providence, R.I. – Providence College students annually volunteer nearly 50,000 hours at more than 125 community agencies, schools, and other non-profit sites in Greater Providence. Volunteer service is provided through the Office of the Chaplain/Campus Ministry, the Office of Student Affairs, the Feinstein Institute for Public Service, the Student Athlete Advisory Board, and many of the College's student clubs, organizations, and service learning classes.
Providence, R.I. – Providence College affirmed today that it will close permanently the College-owned portion of Huxley Ave. (Eaton Street to Ventura Street) to all vehicular traffic on Wednesday, May 18th. PC had previously announced in February its intention to close the College-owned portion of the street sometime between May 15th and June 1st.
