Welcome to the NES/MAA site!

The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is the largest professional society that focuses on undergraduate mathematics education. Our members include university, college, and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry. We welcome all who are interested in the mathematical sciences.

The mission of the MAA is "to advance the mathematical sciences, especially at the collegiate level."

The Northeastern Section of the MAA includes the six New England States of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont and the four Canadian Provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

August 18, 2011 - Susan Loepp of Williams College won one of the Nathional Haimo Awards for Distingished Teacher. This continues a long tradition of success for the Northeastern Section and Williams College in this national contest. Congratulations to Susan Loepp and plan to come to the Boston Joint Meetings in January to see her get her award and give a talk.
