The Department of Foreign Language Studies has chapters of the following honor societies: Phi Sigma Iota International Foreign Language Honor Society; Gamma Kappa Alpha National Italian Honor Society; Sigma Delta Pi (Nu Rho) National Spanish Honor Society; and Pi Delta PHI (Nu Tau) National French Honor Society.  Membership is limited to college students who are ranked in the 35% of their class and have attained a B average in language courses.  Induction and senior banquet are held annually in the spring semester.  Membership in the honor society will be noted on the student's official transcript.

In order to enhance the learning of foreign languages and cultures, the department sponsors the following organizations: Amigos Unidos (the Hispanic/Latino club), the Italian club called Circolo Italiano, and the French Club.  Membership is open to all Providence College students.
