A Community Liaison is a student leadership position within the Feinstein Institute for Public Service. Community Liaisons serves as the prime connector between the Feinstein Institute, a PC service learning course, and a local non-profit organization.

Duties:
-Coordinate and manage the Providence College service learners at the site
-Maintain communication with the organization’s Site Supervisor and Feinstein Institute Service Learning Coordinator
-Assist with orienting the PC service learners to the site
-Serve as the main point of contact between the PC volunteers and the community organization
-Schedule the PC volunteers’ service hours at the site and keep track of their service learning hours -Communicate with the service learning course’s faculty regarding how their students are doing at the site
-Serve 6-10 hours weekly at the community organization (potential organizations / programs include schools; after-school programs; food kitchens; English for Speakers of Other Languages; homeless shelter; senior center)
-Facilitate three reflection sessions with service learners throughout the course of the semester 

Other Responsibilities:
-Obtain a Rhode Island background check
-Attend the Public and Community Service Orientation
-Attend 2-3 Community Liaison training sessions per semester 

Requirements / Preferences:
-At least a one semester commitment; 2 semester commitment is preferred
-Good communication and organizational skills
-Familiarity with volunteering and community organizations
-EITHER have had Public Service 101 OR are a junior or senior with significant community service experience
-Students who are work-study eligible are encouraged to apply.
-For some placements it might be easier to have a car, but it is not essential
