The Feinstein Institute for Public Service is a campus-wide resource for all students, providing programs, courses and opportunities for students to become active and engaged in the community. Each year, students from all academic disciplines, class years and interests participate in service through Feinstein Institute’s various offerings.
Opportunities for Students:
• Alternative Breaks: Service-based trips during school breaks that allow students to do service projects and reflection both internationally and domestically
• Community Liaisons: Leadership opportunity for students to work at community partner sites, organizing projects/programs and coordinating PC volunteers at the site
• Independent Studies: Opportunities for individual students to explore programs, projects or topics around service with faculty guidance for academic credit
• Individual Service Opportunities: Students interested in an in-depth service experience can be placed at a community organization based on student intereste and site availability
• Internships: Placement at community organizations in which students can fulfill internships for credit, compensation or for personal enrichment
• Off-Campus Work-Study: Opportunity for students given Federal Work-Study grants to be paid to work in community organizations
• Raise Your Voice Campaign: Rhode Island Campus Compact grant open to students on campus to support civic activities such as student dialogue, conferences and service
• Scholarships for Service: AmeriCorps-sponsored scholarship in which students can receive a $1000 educational award for 300 hours of service
