Parents now expect to be an integral part of their student’s college experience, and most students welcome their involvement.  Building on themes discussed at a previous CTE session, facilitators will focus on the many complexities of the parent/student relationship and their implications for both the teaching and academic advising of students.  This workshop will serve as a forum for participants to share their own experiences regarding this issue, as well as an opportunity to generate strategies which contribute to appropriate parental involvement and foster student growth and development within the academic environment.  An update on resources available through the Providence College Parent Program will also be provided.
