Program Criteria

The Elmhurst Home Ownership program affords Providence College employees and their adult children the opportunity to purchase a home in the area with a minimal downpayment.  Initiated by Providence College , and in partnership with Roger Williams Medical Center and Rhode Island Housing (RIH), the program features a $3,000 Providence College grant, reduced fees, and an additional $1,000 grant from RIH (income guidelines need to be met for the RIH grant) specifically for the Providence College community.

Property must be located on one of the following streets:

  • Chad Brown Street (29-41)
  • Eaton Street (8-160)
  • Oakland Avenue
  • Pembroke Avenue
  • Pinehurst Avenue
  • Radcliffe Avenue
  • Tyndall Avenue

Property must be currently owned by either an absentee landlord, HUD, bank, or by an estate.

Buyer must live in the property for five consecutive years.
