The Assessment System
The Education Programs have developed a comprehensive assessment system that provides numerous opportunities for the performance of each prospective teacher to be reviewed through multiple measures. Although students’ performance is monitored throughout the program by faculty, advisors, program directors, and the department chair, there are four critical assessment points. These are admission, monitoring, readiness to student teach, and approval for licensure. Successful completion of all four points enables the student to graduate as an education student with a transcript indicating the completion of an approved program.
