Board of Programers
The Board of Programers (BOP) is the main events programing board on campus. Its four executive officers and approximately 40 student chairpersons serving on 10-12 committees sponsor many of the cultural, social, and recreational programs on campus. These include a wide variety of major collegewide events and 20-25 smaller events each month. Programs are designed to meet students’ needs for cultural and social experiences, as well as recreation and entertainment, and to complement the academic programs at Providence College.

Club Sports
The College, through its Intramural and Recreational Sports Program, offers a wide variety of club sports. These include the Crew Club, Figure Skating Club, Golf Club, Men’s Rugby Club, Men’s Volleyball Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, Racquetball Club, Sailing Team, and Women’s Rugby Club.

Intramural Sports
The College, through its Intramural and Recreational Sports Program, offers a wide variety of intramural sports. These include flag football, ice hockey, three-on-three basketball, five-on-five basketball, indoor soccer, and softball.

L3: Lifelong Leadership
Founded in the early 1990s under the name of Leadership 2000, L3: Lifelong Leadership provides leadership development opportunities for students, helping them build skills that will be valuable to them as individuals and as members of the campus community. Lifelong Leadership’s programing includes workshops and lectures on leadership topics, an annual leadership conference, a Student Organization Recognition Program, the Dirigo Honor Society, and the newsletter The Leadership Digest. Providence College is a member of the Ocean State Leadership Consortium. Lifelong Leadership is sponsored by the Office of Student-Activities-Involvement-Leadership (S.A.I.L.)/Slavin Center.

Office of Student Activities-Involvement-Leadership (S.A.I.L.)/Slavin Center
S.A.I.L./Slavin Center manages Slavin Center, PC’s student union, and McPhail’s, PC’s student entertainment facility. The office is responsible, along with the Board of Programers, for the majority of co-curricular programming at the College and for providing students with essential services, entertainment, and recreational facilities. The office also serves as a clearinghouse for information regarding more than 70 student clubs and organizations and hundreds of other social- and service-oriented events which it communicates through its weekly e-mail newsletter, SAIL Digest. The office coordinates the New Student Orientation program, creates leadership opportunities for students through L3: Lifelong Leadership, coordinates the College Bowl and Urban Action programs, and publishes the annual New Student Record for freshmen. The office also manages the Slavin Information Desk and the Central Reservations Service.

Student Clubs and Organizations
Students at Providence College who wish to expand their social, intellectual, or public service experiences may choose from among more than 70 clubs and organizations. Some of these clubs are primarily academic in nature, such as the Biology Society, the Organization of Student Social Workers, or the various honor societies. Others are oriented around language and culture, such as the Asian American Club, Amigos Unidos, or the Gaelic Society. Still others are related to the arts, such as the A Cappella Club, the Jazz Band, and the Art Club. If a student wishes to become involved in public service, there are 12 clubs—such as PC Pals, Friars Club, and Best Buddies—dedicated to helping out in the wider community. All clubs have a student president and a faculty or staff moderator.
