Academic Support for Student-Athletes
The Office of Academic Services (OAS) provides specialized support services to student-athletes in light of the unique time demands and responsibilities they face and the rules governing participation in intercollegiate athletics. Providence College student-athletes can take advantage of all regular academic support services offered as well as academic monitoring, the NCAA CHAMPS/LifeSkills Program, pre-registration assistance, and monitored study halls.

Division I Varsity Sports
Providence College fields 19 men’s and women’s NCAA Division I teams. The eight men’s teams are: basketball, cross country, ice hockey, indoor track, outdoor track, lacrosse, soccer, and swimming and diving. The 11 women’s teams are: basketball, cross country, field hockey, ice hockey, indoor track, outdoor track, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, and volleyball.

Varsity Athletics - General Statement
As part of the Dominican tradition of educating the whole person, Providence College has developed a rich athletic tradition. Friar teams play an active role in intercollegiate athletics through membership in the NCAA, ECAC, BIG EAST Conference, HOCKEY EAST Association, and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. On-campus athletic facilities include Alumni Hall, Peterson Recreation Center, Schneider Arena, Glay Field, Hendricken Field, Raymond Field, multiple tennis courts, and an outdoor artificial-turf field.
