Financial Aid
Meeting the costs of a quality, private-college education is a challenge for most students and families. Providence College distributes financial assistance based on federal policy, institutionally determined financial need, academic achievement, and the availability of other resources. The College uses the Federal Methodology required by the Higher Education Act, as amended, to determine a student’s eligibility for federal financial aid programs, and the Institutional Methodology, a more comprehensive analysis of a family’s total financial situation, for the distribution of institutional funds. This methodology provides a systematic and objective measurement of the family’s ability to contribute toward educational expenses and the amount of financial assistance the student will require to attend.

The Office of Financial Aid constructs an aid package consisting of work, loans, and grant assistance in accordance with federal regulation, the availability of funds, and institutional policy. All grant and loan funds are credited to the student’s account at the beginning of each semester.

For more information, contact the Office of Financial Aid at (401) 865-2286 or click on Admission > Undergraduate Financial Aid on the PC Web site.

Enrollment Services
Enrollment Services is responsible for the administrative management of student records, course registration, and classroom space scheduling for the College. As primary information resources for students and faculty, the enrollment services staff members seek ways to effectively communicate and to inform students of their rights, their responsibilities, and procedures while also providing administrative support to our faculty’s classroom efforts. Two key offices make up this unit: the Office of Academic Records and the Office of Academic Scheduling and Registration.|

The Office of Academic Records is charged with administering academic policy established by the College. Its primary roles are to process, maintain, and secure all student academic records, transcripts, diplomas, and degrees conferred. The office is committed to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in order to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and security of institutional educational records and an accurate interpretation of such information. Additionally, academic records issues diplomas, supervises veterans affairs, and handles all changes of address and other corrections to student data information. (See contact information following next paragraph.)

The Office of Academic Scheduling and Registration serves as the coordinator of all College student registration, course offerings, and academic space scheduling needs for the campus. Such records are maintained using information systems and Web services designed to enable students, academic advisors, staff, department chairpersons, and program directors to conduct their work in a self-service model.
