Special and Archival Collections
The mission of the Office of Special and Archival Collections of Providence College is to fulfill the information and research needs of the undergraduate students while supporting the curricula of the institution. It also supports faculty research and serves as a resource for the local academic, religious, and civic communities.
Our collections consist of primary and secondary 20th century resources that have been acquired and preserved by the Library since the founding of the department in 1967.
Before beginning research, researchers are asked to sign in and fill out a short Research Form identifying themselves and the materials they are requesting. This helps us to provide better service and to better identify those collections that are used the most.
Certain collections may have donor restrictions and may not be available, nor may archival or manuscript materials be removed from the Reading Room area or borrowed from the collections.
Please consult the Polices and Procedures page for the complete criteria on using the collections.
