Building Bridges

Building Bridges intends to create community both inside and outside the boundaries of the Providence College campus byengaging students, faculty, staff and community partners in day-long service projects as part of the New Student Orientation program.Building Bridges upholds the College's mission by beginning to foster an authentic culture of service from day one.

Building Bridges is a special program designed specifically for students new to the Providence College community. On Saturday, September 5th, 2009, the College will transport more than 1,100 new students and campus leaders to sites in the area to do volunteer work in a variety of capacities. This program will give new students the opportunity to:

  • meet other new students, as well as student leaders and members of the faculty and staff
  • have a first-hand introduction to Providence and the surrounding area
  • improve the community that they will now call “home”

Program registration forms were sent to all new students in their New Student Orientation packet. Please be sure to complete the form and return it to the SAIL Office by July 17, 2009.

Any faculty or staff members interested in serving as site leaders should complete a Site Leader Application  and return it the SAIL Office.
