Federal Student Loans

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Stafford Loan, Federal Perkins Loan and the Federal Direct Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) programs are dually administered by the Office of Financial Aid and the Student Loan Office.  Throughout the academic year it is possible to receive information and communication from either office about these loan programs.

Typically the Office of Financial Aid will determine and notify you of your eligibility for these programs each year that you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  (For PLUS you must complete the pre-application each year for our office to determine your eligibility). The Student Loan Office will notify and track any requirements you must complete in order to properly activate these loans.

More information on these loan programs can also be found in the links along the right hand side of this page or by visiting the the Student Loan Office's website.

Information about the William D Ford Federal Direct and Perkins Loan programs are available in a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) format.  Click on the Direct/Perkins Loan FAQ to view or print the document in PDF format.
