Battle of the Brains

Battle of the Brains, formerly known as College Bowl, is a fast paced question and answer game. Questions cover many subject areas including current events, literature, history, religion, social and natural sciences, art, music, sports, and entertainment. Providence College students may be particularly suited to Battle of the Brains competition because of our Development of Western Civilization program.

Battle of the Brains is a wonderful exercise in the integration of a student's academic and co-curricular experiences. Teams of four square off during a timed question and answer session. During the two halves, the score is tallied which will determine the winner at the end of the game. The top four teams with the best records make the playoffs consisting of a semi-final and final round to determine the Battle of the Brains champion.

Faculty, staff, and students who would like to volunteer are welcome to by contacting the S.A.I.L. Office at 401-865-2211 or by stopping by Slavin 104.  Teams who are interested in participating should contact the S.A.I.L. Office.

General Battle of the Brains Information:

Team Sign-ups
Any team wishing to sign up must do so in the S.A.I.L. Office, Slavin Center Room 104.  Teams must consist of at least 3 members (4 is standard, 5 is acceptable with one member as a back-up).  Sign up by March 13th!

Team/Volunteer Orientation
All volunteers and at least one member from each team must attend this session.  The rules of play will be distributed and each team will have a chance to practice with the buzzers!  Any team that does not send a representative will forfeit their place in the tournament and we will select the next team from the waiting list (and we ALWAYS have a waiting list so don't lose your spot!)

Providence College Tournament
Slavin Center

Noon - 6pm
Saturday, March 21st
