Providence College's hometown news program publicizes students' achievements, honors, and activities to the daily and weekly newspapers in students' hometowns.
Faculty and staff achievements also are published in appropriate local newspapers.

Sending releases
For individuals who are recognized for specific honors, our office writes and sends releases manually to hometown papers.
When more than 30 students have been honored for the same achievement, we use a news distribution service. The service sends our releases to one daily and one weekly paper located closest to each student's zip code. This process is not an exact "science" so if there is an error in which paper has been selected for a student, please let us know.
