PC Freshman Family Weekend is a special time when families can reunite and join in activities scheduled for everyone! Freshman Family Weekend promises you the opportunity to interact with not only your student, but also faculty, administrators, and other students.
Sit-in on a class, attend a theatrical performance or join in any one of a number of discussions offered throughout the weekend. Come cheer on the Friars at women's ice hockey, men's basketball or simply take time to reunite with your freshman.

Field Hockey Championship at Providence College
The 2009 BIG EAST Field Hockey Championship brings Syracuse, Connecticut, Louisville and Providence to the league's tournament for the third straight season. Providence College will serve as host for the two-round event, with the semifinals―#4-ranked PC vs. # 1-ranked Syracuse―beginning Saturday at 11 a.m. through Sunday at 1 p.m., the two semifinal winners will face off for the championship title and the BIG EAST's automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Championship. All games will be held at the Friar Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex, adjacent to the Concannon Fitness Center.

For many people, St. Dominic is something of a mystery. He left behind little by way of writing and was so self-effacing that even his own Friars didnt always recognize his holiness. Yet holy and visionary he was. In this presentation, we will examine the visual landscape of St. Dominic's Spain and southern France-much of it unchanged even today-for clues about the man, his inner life with God, and his vision of the Order. In doing so, we also will consider how that vision should inspire the College today.
