Mission
Why Study Business at Providence College?
The Providence College School of Business offers a unique opportunity to gain a values-based business education that is grounded in the Liberal Arts as well as the Catholic and Dominican tradition.
What does this mean?
The Catholic and Dominican tradition challenges us to ask tough questions, analyze and weigh diverse perspectives, seek integrated solutions, and contemplate and live the truth as individuals, within the classroom, in our communities, and at our places of work. PC provides a liberal arts education that requires courses in the arts and sciences, philosophy, theology, and a rigorous series of integrated courses focused on the Development of Western Civilization. These foundational courses are critical to the development of well-rounded and broadly-educated citizens who are prepared to navigate the complexity of the global economy. The business curriculum is crafted to build on this liberal arts foundation by further extending students' abilities to:
- Think critically and make business decisions that appreciate the need to balance the often conflicting demands of the marketplace, the global environment, and society.
- Communicate effectively using technology as appropriate.
- Develop and strengthen skills in interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
The School is dedicated to developing well-rounded graduates who have consistently confronted real-world /real-time organizational challenges and who, through the school's cohesive and integrated environment, have developed resiliency and ability to learn and transform themselves, their organizations, and their communities.
