Computer/Hardware Requirements
Access to a personal computer with a Windows 98 or higher operating system or a Macintosh computer with System 7x or higher;
An active email account;
Current version of a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, or AOL;
Modem with a speed of 56k or higher;
Word processing and presentation software (Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are recommended for optimal performance).
Course Requirements
The curriculum of the C.O.R.E. program is grounded in the 4 major components of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (1992). Each course module is delivered online over a period of 5 weeks. Grades are awarded on a pass/fail basis. Participants earn 1 continuing education unit (ceu) for each module successfully completed.
The School of Continuing Education offers its CORE program courses online using a computer platform called ANGEL (A New Global Environment for Learning). Because classes do not meet at regularly scheduled times, there is a heightened need for students to take the initiative in logging on frequently in order to keep pace.
