Center for International Studies
The Center for International Studies, in support of the educational mission of Providence College, aims to provide opportunities for transformative academic and cultural learning experiences to help students develop and acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills that will prepare them to:
- have a diverse and knowledgeable worldview
- comprehend the international dimensions of their major field of study
- develop cross-cultural sensitivity and adaptability
- carry global competence throughout life
The Center also welcomes international students and scholars and is committed to assisting them in their academic, social, and personal integration into the College and local community.
The Center serves as a bridge in fostering a learning environment whereby members of the PC community, as they are exposed to a diversity of cultures and social and political viewpoints, come to truly understand and see themselves as world citizens.
Providence College, through the Center for International Studies, is a member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators, the Institute of International Education, the Association of International Educators, and the Forum on Education Abroad. The Center also is a member of Abroad 101 and Diversity Abroad. The Center adheres to the NAFSA Code on Ethics and Statements of Principles in International Educational Exchange and the Code of Ethics for Education Abroad developed by the Forum on Education Abroad.

Summer and Fall Scholarships for Study and Service-Learning Abroad Available
Santander Universities has partnered with the Center for International Studies to provide funding for students participating in international programs. The Diversity Scholarship targets under-represented study abroad students who are participating in credit-bearing programs for a semester, full year, or summer. The deadline to apply for Summer and Fall 2013 and the 2013-2014 Academic Year is February 22, 2013. The Service Learning Grant aids individuals or groups who will be engaged in a service project abroad during the winter intersession, spring break, or summer. The deadline to apply for Summer 2013 is March 22, 2013. All applications should be submitted to Allie Agati (email@example.com). Please note the Santander Scholarships are open to undergraduate students only.
