Balfour Office for Multicultural Activities

 Welcome!

The mission of Providence College "recognizes the unity of the human family that proceeds from its one Creator. It therefore encourages the deepest respect for the essential dignity, freedom, and equality of every person and welcomes qualified women and men from all religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Providence College prepares its students to be responsible and productive citizens to serve in their own society and the greater world community.

The Balfour Office for Multicultural Activities seeks to support the college mission by creating opportunities for students to meaningfully engage and dialogue across differences and thereby increasing their intercultural proficiency in their residence halls, classrooms, and on and off the field and campus as well as provide support and encouragement for social justice advocacy as it pertains to diversity and grounded in Catholic social teaching.

We are committed to collaborating with faculty, staff, administration, and student leaders to plan and promote programs and activities for all students to deepen their intercultural understanding, skills and maturity through cultivating intentional relationships with one another, examining historical, theological and biblical perspectives about diversity, and serving locally and globally for mutual benefit.
