Congratulations to Jessica Pilkington, AMS '07!  Jess will be participating in the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.  The institute provides teachers and students with primary pource documents from the colonial period through the Great Depression.  From June 3 - June 10, 2006, she will be focusing on the history of slavery and abolition in the United States, meeting with historians Ira Berlin and David Brion Davis, and visiting important sights in New York City related to black history. (NOTE:  Jess was one of 300 people from 195 different colleges and universities who applied for this fellowship)
