In this stage of his career, Dr. Jones ran several start-up material, science-based companies, one of which was UltraFine Powder Technology. He served as president and CEO of UltraFine until it was bought recently by Carpenter Powder Products. In his present position as Director of Business Development, he lends worldwide strategic guidance to Carpenter in the business and technical development arenas.

Staying Involved:  A member of the Providence College President's Council, Dr. Jones has served as chairman of the College's Annual Fund--now the PC Fund--for two years.

He co-chaired the Class of 1964's classroom rehabilitation fund drive, and is actively involved in his planning the class's 45th reunion. In addition, he has participated in various School of Business events, including being a judge in the popular business plan competitions.

Transforming Quote: "Long to realize but never to forget those that helped me through the difficult and rewarding times of my life: Dr. Jim Belliveau, professor of chemistry (retired), friend and classmate who taught me how to learn by understanding;  Dr. Pat MacKay, former professor of chemistry, a friend who gave me guidance and support in days of turmoil and indecision; and Fr. Heath, former professor of ethics, who in clear and emphatic manner instilled in me guiding principles that I unconsciously have come to rely upon many times in my life. To these and all my many associates and friends at PC, past and present, I can only give thanks and never forget."
