As Grassroots Advocacy Coordinator, Lynch is responsible for coordinating volunteer advocacy on legislation affecting cancer in Rhode Island. Most recently, he worked on legislation making all Rhode Island workplaces smoke-free and requiring insurance companies to cover cancer screenings according to American Cancer Society guidelines.
Lynch continues to remain active as a volunteer for the Tomorrow Fund, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Hasbro Children's Hospital. When afforded the opportunity, Patrick shares his story as a two-time cancer survivor with audiences throughout New England offering hope and encouragement. He has spoken in front of groups as large as 600 and particularly enjoys talking to teenagers and youth groups about the lessons he learned facing cancer as a teenager in high school.
Patrick hopes to stay involved in public service and continues to express an interest in running for public office, hoping to represent those without a voice.
Family: Patrick's father, Thomas A. Lynch is a graduate of the class of 1968.
Staying Involved: Patrick hasn't missed a single Providence College basketball game since he graduated, and has attended numerous alumni events, including Alumni Weekend, Friars Club Alumni Weekend, and Young Alumni events.
Memorable Quotes: "Life isn't about second chances. It's about the now. Know your priorities and what comes first. For me, it is God, Family, and Friends. After that, all of your other concerns and decisions fall into place on their own. Providence College helped to reinforce that ideal, providing a community that helped me live a complete life in mind, body and spirit."
