Career Path Highlights: Owens received his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1988. He was an associate with a private law firm in Washington, D.C., immediately after law school. In 1992, Owens went to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) where he served as senior counsel in the Office of General Counsel and, later, as counsel to former SEC Commissioner Steven Wallman. He has taught as an adjunct professor in the LLM program at Georgetown Law Center, and currently is a partner in the law firm of WilmerHale, practicing securities law.
Family: Wife, Allyson; three children, Lauren, Grant, and Christopher
Staying Involved: Appointed to Providence College's Board of Trustees in 2008, Owens is serving as chair of the board's Student Affairs Committee and is a member of the Investment Committee. He is a former member of the College's Providence President's Council.
