Career Path Highlights: After a short career in the transportation industry, Concannon joined the Building Systems Company of the United Technologies Corporation in Hartford, Conn. That job led to an appointment in 1986 as vice president of national marketing with the Trammell Crow Company in Dallas, Texas, where he moved his family. Trammell Crow is a real estate development, asset management, and investment firm. He was named director and partner of Trammell Crow Corporate Services in 1990 and, the following year, he became president and CEO. He served in that position until 2001.
In 2001, he was named president of Trammell Crow's Global Services Group. Concannon was named vice chairman of Trammell Crow in 2003. He served on the company's Board of Directors from 1991 to 2006. He also served on the Board of Directors for Savills, PLC, a real estate and property firm, from 2000 to 2006.
In 2006, Concannon joined CB Richard Ellis--the global leader in commercial real estate services--as the vice chairman of Global Corporate Services. In this position, he oversees the Global Client Strategies and Development Group, which consults with Global Corporations, as well as healthcare and governmental organizations on their real estate practices and operations. CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. announced Concannon's promotion to president of the Global Corporate Services Group on August 21, 2009. (He had most recently served as vice chairman of that group.) He also serves as a member of the Global Executive Board and the Americas Operations Management Board at CB Richard Ellis.
Since 2000, Concannon has served as a member of the Board of Directors of CRA International, a global economic consulting firm. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of CoreNet Global.
Family: Wife, Claudia; children, Molly '08, Kristin, and William Jr.
Staying Involved: Concannon has been a member of the College's Board of Trustees since 2002. He chairs the board's Strategic Planning Committee and serves on the Finance Committee. In 2007, he made the $2 million leadership gift for the new College fitness center that bears his family's name. In 2002, he received the National Alumni Association's Personal Achievement Award.
