Lieutenant Colonel Kevin M. Burke, USMC (Ret.)

Career Path: Burke was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation from PC in 1983.  Following completion of The Marine Logistics Officer School in 1984, his assignments included tours in California, Massachusetts, Missouri, Washington, D.C., and Louisiana.  Burke served two tours at the Pentagon as Deputy Director of Operations, Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense.  He was present at the Pentagon during the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. After 25 years of service, Burke retired from the Marine Corps in 2008, and was hired by Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. as a consultant in the Washington, D.C. area. His primary duties involve consulting to various U.S. Department of Defense agencies on military equipment readiness as it relates to the current Global War on Terrorism.  
 
Burke is a graduate of the Amphibious Warfare School and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College. His military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal; the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards); the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal; the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal; the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star; the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.

Family: Wife Nicole; daughter Catherine, PC Class of 2007; son John, PC Class of 2009; daughter Therese, PC Class of 2011; daughter Mary. Burke's father, Walter graduated from PC in 1959, and his sister, Kathleen, in 1986.

Staying Involved:  Burke is a proud PC parent, and he maintains close ties to the College through family and friends. He and his family live in northern Virginia and he attends alumni chapter activities in the metro Washington, D.C. area.
