Over 500 alumni, families and friends “Came Home” for the 2008 Homecoming Weekend on February 15-17, 2008. Whether a recent graduate or visiting with grandchildren, alumni of all ages came together to celebrate being a Friar. Highlights included:

• The Concannon Fitness Center - Tours offered on Friday and Saturday provided an opportunity for alumni to grab fun health snacks and giveaways while taking in the magnificence of the new facility.
  
  
• Hall of Fame Induction –Over 270 friends and families gathered at the Providence Hilton to celebrate the achievements of 14 former athletes and coaches that were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame by PC’s Athletic Department. The celebration also included the 10th Anniversary of the participation of seven women’s ice hockey players on the 1998 Olympic Gold Medal team.
  
  
• Young alumni – recent grads packed the walls of McPhails and McFaddens as they reunited with friends, former roommates, and classmates.
  
  
• Friar Fanatics – Fans were able to cheer their favorite teams on at the Men’s Hockey Game Friday night, Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games on Saturday afternoon, and the Women’s Hockey Game on Sunday afternoon. Saturday evening also provided the chance to honor some of Providence College’s outstanding athletes at the Hall of Fame reception.
  
  
• A Cappella Club Concert – It was a full house in the Ryan Family Concert Hall as alumni listened to the sounds of our outstanding a cappella groups. This year marked the 10th anniversary of PC’s all-female group – Anaclastic.
  
  
  
• Brunch with the President – this annual event provided a great opportunity to hear about all of the exciting things College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., ’80 has in store for the future at Providence College.
  
  

Whether it was cheering on one of our athletic teams, sharing a meal at Ray Café, or just taking a walk through our ever-changing campus, Homecoming Weekend was a great time to reunite with friends and former classmates and experience again our love for Providence College.
