Providence College occasionally has openings for Graduate Assistantships for the upcoming semesters. They are offered each year by the College to give financial aid to graduate students.
Graduate assistantships are limited to accepted degree candidates who are enrolled on a full-time basis.
Positions may be available in a variety of departments and offices at the College, including:
History Department
Theology Department
Dominican Archives
MBA Program
Athletics Department
Education programs offices
Publications Center
Office of Academic Services
Office of Student-Activities-Involvement-Leadership
Duties could include writing assigned news stories for the college publications, assisting faculty with research projects, assisting faculty with computer issues, conducting library research, and helping to coordinate commencement activities.
Graduate assistants are required to spend a maximum of 20 hours a week at these duties. The course load must consist of a minimum of nine hours per semester and at least three hours in one of the summer sessions.
Graduate assistants receive a stipend of $700/month in the first year of their assistantship and $750/month in the second year. Assistants also receive remission of tuition fees for the academic year and summer session. Appointments to assistantships are for one year with the possibility for renewal.
