
In 2006, Providence College launched a pilot program to make standardized test scores an optional component of the admission application. Becasue we were among the first private liberal arts colleges -- and only the second Catholic college in the nation -- to do this, we were propelled into the national news spotlight.
Last fall, Providence College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., Ph.D., was invited to author an essay for the Winter 2007 edition of the Harvard Educational Review, which includes a symposium focusing on the topic of equity and access in higher education.
