Johnson C. Smith University offers a campus exchange opportunity with Providence College for third-year, first-semester students. The program, which is open to students of all races and ethnicities, is intended to broaden the academic and social experience of a PC student by attendance at a predominately historic, black liberal arts university.
Johnson C. Smith University is an independent, private college of liberal arts that was founded under the auspices of the Committee of Freedmen of the Presbyterian Church, USA. While the original purpose of the institution was to provide training of men "for the ministry, for catechists, and for teachers," today it serves as a coed institution of higher learning offering varied fields of study in the context of the small liberal arts college. The campus is located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
