The Health Policy and Management Program offers a course of study leading to the bachelor of science degree.

The Health Policy and Management Program curriculum addresses the design, operation, and management of various components of the system for health care.  These components include the hospital, extended care facility, ambulatory care setting, insurance, and governmental agencies.  The program recognizes the need to balance theory with practice and provides for a structured field placement during the student's senior year.  The internship affords an opportunity to develop and practice management skills in a controlled atmosphere under the direction of an on-site preceptor and a faculty supervisor.

This program aims to prepare students for management positions in the health care field and for more advanced study at the graduate level.

Career possibilities for health policy and management majors:

  • management positions in the health care field
  • advanced study in the health care field
  • public health administration
  • research
