Providence College, in cooperation with the the Diocese of Providence, Rhode Island, is pleased to introduce C.O.R.E., the Certificate of Religious Education, an Internet-based, professional certification program for Catholic teachers, administrators, and parish catechists.
C.O.R.E. has been designed to enhance and fortify the quality of school and parish-based religious education programs.
A council of teachers, principals, directors of religious education, and Providence College faculty worked in concert to develop the C.O.R.E. curriculum. Course contents reflect the components of The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1992). By completion, participants will have explored the realms of creed, sacraments, morality and prayer.
Learning is augmented by the study of catechesis, thereby empowering participants with effective and contemporary tools to communicate the Catholic faith.
